Hi all!
Yep, she came back 44 days later and I’ve managed to take her from 30,000 to 34,000 miles in the month that I’ve had her back and all is well, with no sign of oil leaks from the revised wiring loom and oil sensor. In fact, the engine seems to be running smoother than ever and I’m regaining confidence by the day :)
It’s had an unexpected upside - the family didn’t really understand why I’d chopped the Disco in for it and spent so much money!!
I’m the end, they missed her even more than I did and now they really understand why I bought her
Even Ben’s chuffed because the dainty electric plank, on the loaner D5, was no substitute for sitting on a proper fold down tailgate (AKA Ben’s Balcony) and watching the world go buy :D
All being well, it’s back to Plan A and seeing if I can run to her to 250-300,000 miles plus!

So pleased you finally got her back, and enjoying her even more. Fingers crossed you get a lot more miles under the bonnet before she remembers her heritage ;) :D

If we keep adding to this thread maybe one of the Admins will take note and make a section dedicated to the L405 ;)

Maybe, one day!! ;)
Perhaps there are not enough out of warranty L405's out there to need a dedicated section. Certainly they are as rare as hens teeth where I am, there are many more of the Sport & Ejoke around.

Agreed but wouldn't it be handy to have a section ready and waiting for when they start coming out of warranty and eventually breaking ;)

Why do they need to be out of warranty? Besides, there are Fatty's from 2013,14 and shortly 2015 all out of warranty.

It just occurred, the L405 was launched at the September 2012 Paris Motor Show. That's 6 years and 3 months ago.

I hate to rush these things, but how about an L405 section chaps? :D
I have only ever seen 2 here in France, lots of RR sports and Ejokes though. Either the L405 is a poor seller, or they are all going to the USA, China & Russia where the money is.

There’s one here in Cornwall :D

The rest are with Americans and Oligarchs. The drug dealers tend to stick to the Sports ;)

@Tigger Eeyore & Roo , where was the oil leak, oil level sensor per chance? My l494 diagnosed incorrectly as oil leak from oil level sensor and cam cover, actually it’s a seal in vacuum pump leaking, and oil level sensor just doesn’t work !

Yes, it was the oil level sensor, where the wiring loom exits the motor. It’ll be on the ramp at the end of the week. I shall try and get a photo to post up.
