will the later type folding mirrors fit ???

Yes. You need to drill out one hole in the outer skin to 13mm, otherwise it is a straight swap.

10 minute job.

No problems. The job is covered in the Haines manual and it it obvious when you hold up the new mirror which hole needs drilling out. Just the outer skin, mind. And a blob of paint on it.
