No worries, my Rangie is fine.

I have +1 in over reacting.

It was apparently just a loose wheel (rear left side)

I find that weird as i saw with my own eyes wheel close into the hub, nay could i rotate the nuts by hand.
I didn't jack it up tho. Maybe if i did that i'd figure it... I just got a sheet over my brain wanting to fix my car ASAP that i didnt take a proper look.

Was actually 60£, for the workshop refitting my tire :D

And pause take a deep breath and let it all slowly out:D:D

Well give yourself a good kick up the arse, you couldn't have had the wheel properly located on the spigot IF you torqued the wheel nuts up as you said.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Im quite confident i seated it properly.

Sat good for over a month?
I even re torqued them after a week. (All were good)

can the nuts get bad torque due to the old decoration steel caps? Bcus they are miss shaped.

hmm this got me thinking… Bad threads? I remember this wheel were a pain getting off after the first, bad tireshop redid my old wheeels…

The wheel aside, how did the airbag, rear prop, caliper reapeared and the hole in the diff heal up ??

I do infact still have the weird clunking sound/feel at low speed tho. Vibrations are atleast a goner as the wheels on good now.

i still dont think its a UJ. How do i take a check of the panhard rod? Should it sit snug? No movements?
Im gonna put the car in the garage in the weekend and check it. Sometimes feels like, one of the wheels in the back aint round and acts like a triangle…. No joke lol

Is the wheel damaged where the nuts seat is it, preventing it from tightening up? Try putting the spare on.

When i fitted them i remember that the rim and where nut seats is in very good condition. Only some minor stone chips on theese old rims. Bargain for 200£ included shipping for thoose.

the hub seating also appears to be as it should.

my spare is a huge, huge pirelli something.. AT tire

Corroded threads and nut mating surfaces can give false torque readings.

I ran a brush over the threads atleast. Maybe its time to order some new nuts? Their old, the decoration caps are generally all deformed making it a hassle taking them on/off, also think a nut or two is about to get rounded due to previous tire shop visits.. air gun goes mad max mode….

I always use a smear of Copper slip on the threads and mating surfaces.

i coppa slip the mating surfaces, i heard coppa slipping threads gives wrong torque aswell?
With reduced friction, you can certainly get the nuts tighter. I cannot see that the torque can be correct if the threads and surfaces are binding up. I have done the threads etc with copper slip on all my cars for decades and never had a wheel come loose so it works for me right or wrong.

I posted about how to check the panhard rod. Focus now.
