Hello

Hopefully I can

The disco will drive absolutely fine. It tows fine etc (on country lanes so all slow) and starts brilliant, recently passed MOT with no advisories.

However, after 40 mph it will loose power and pretty much crawl. Almost like its in neutral. Often this is accompanied by black exhaust fumes.

Easing up on the accelarator helps it seems its fine at the bottom end.

Any ideas?

NOTE to anyone reading who may have same problem - Blocked air filter, problem sorted via servicing 20th November

black smoke is not enough oxygen for fuel ,so if you have black smoke its either too much fuel or not enough air ,id check all hoses to and from turbo first

Right, thank you.

Will get on it this weekend. Just in case in case what I call black might not be pitch black, is that still dark enough to be called black? If that makes sense? I.e if it isn't black but it is dark could it be a different problem?

UPDATE: Have not had time to get it looked at

Confirmed black smoke coming out

Sidenote: Was driving it today, got to 60 mph smoothly with no black smoke. This was a gradual, gentle drive up to 60 mph. It seems that the black smoke only happens when putting your foot down on the accelerator to get speed quickly.

Read and act upon posts #2 and #3 ... What's the point of saying more until you've checked what's been suggested?

CBA to explain more, it's been said many times if you search.

Ok

Looked at - The air filter is completely blocked  < service time!

Thanks for the input guys, and will report back once the service is completed
