Hi Guys,

Cannot find my previous thread I started with engine power loss problems and still waiting to get it diagnosed. Local indie guy cannot do any work until March and the main dealer is running three weeks...........

So have checked the intank pump and no fuel issuing forth. Checked fuse and relay. I did change it a couple of years ago but installed a very cheap option. So either it has packed up or I haven't put the connector on properly........ So was going to order a new one before dropping the tank again. Keen to get the job done as Mrs has said can go away to France for a few days over half term with the kids.............

Looking at on an online supplier there are these options:

£35 option fitted before
Bearmach option at £45
VDO option £117
Orginal equipment in plain box £138
LR option £292

I was thinking of going for either the VDO or original equipment option.

Provided deliver not prohibitive and can be done VAT free.

Any body any experiences/preference.

Thanks

I'd go for VDO, I certainly wouldn't pay OE or LR prices. Keeping the tank full seems to prolong the life of the pump.

Don't envy you. I don't know about Jersey but it is brass monkey's out there.

Stop dropping the tank and do the cheat, cut a small hole just above the pump, and then you can have easy access to it, once you put it all back and cover it with the carpet, you wont know the difference, that's what I did, and don't regret have done so, been in there 2 times since, and it was a 10-15 min job to change the pump

That's what you get for buying cheap pumps dopes. ;):D

That does seem alot of pumps hardly worth putting the carpet back? You use bio fuel or really high mileage?

No, his car looks mint and has done barely any miles. No biodiesel and it even has a blanket to keep it warm at night!

Maybe the access hatch makes it too easy for people keep stealing your pumps?
May have to drop mine when weather breaks now that you've got me worried. Doubt it's had 3 in it's 24yrs.

No need to drop yours to unless you have to. Land Rover already ream enough Range Rover owners on parts.

Yep Land rovers pricing policy seems to be. Cost price plus 100% then double it, then add 50% then double it again. Plus VAT of course.

It upsets me that they view the parts as 'Classic, no longer produced rangerover premium price', yet view them all put together as a whole original p38 nothing but a scrapper? Especially a diesel. As if it's not worthy.

That's why last time my princess saw LR was in Solihull :D
