Hi , bought my 90 without knowing to much about them .... its got all the off road stuff on it ... bought it as a non running turbo .
Then set about it ... now its got a great 200tdi engine , got all those mods and probs finished off today , so took it down the road for the first spin ! great engine pulls really well .
Then into the next set of probs ;
Pulls really hard to the right when you lift off the power ...any ideas ?
has aweful vibration .. think this might be uj`s ...any ideas ?
looking forward to really driving this landy not just sorting out 24 years of other peoples bodging .
any ideas would help ...cheers
 
:DNot mechanic but guess anyone will need more info.
For me: age and more about extras, buy it from private or garage?, when does it vibrate and where from. Did you test drive so is this new stuff?
Owning LR can feel like pants sometimes but it gets sorted!!!
 
DONT DRIVE IT till you find out what the prob is ........

check ALL your axle componants eg

A frame ball joint and bushes
Torsion arm bushes
radius arm bushes
Panard rod bushes

basically everything ......

but FFS dont drive it on the roads till its sorted or you might end up killing yourself or someone else .......

mine was pulling to the left and vibrating REALLY badly, felt as tho it was gonna shake itself apart which turned out to be a siezed CV joint.
 
thanks all .... only drove it up the road to find next set of probs ... much as i thought .. the old girl continues to kick scream and fight me ! .. another weekend of laying in the crap comming up then .
i just hope it more fun driving it than fixing it !!!!!!!
 
the next set of probs were found to be ..... last owner was a mechanical moron ! with 2 left hands !!!!!
1- neither track-rods were tight ...infact bloody loose !
2- 2no hanging wheel bearings 1no needing adjustment.
3-1no knackered steering swivel.
4-2 no knackered uj`s
5-1no under inflated tyre .
great buying a landy that was maintained regardless of cost ! hahahahahahah
 
cheers ..they are on the ever increasing list to check ....weekend and daylight all i need now .... but as thislandy goes i`ll expect to do this list and then start another before it finally stops fighting
 
Mine drove terrible when I first got it, had a knackered track rod end, also tracking was WAY out, this was made worse when fitting bigger tyres!
