Which one in your opinion is the best off road? i think the 110 has an advantage with its longer wheelbase. What do you guys think?

where you based? what kind of offroad do you do? look at most challenge trucks and you will find the 90 pickup is most popular followed by a 100" hybrid.

longer wheelbase can sometimes help but better aproach/departure angles rate higher.

tis a hard one to come to a conclusion on mate, each has its own strengths and weaknesses, but probly find the swb will just edge out in front.

i'm from barnsley/sheffield. i was just thinking overall, wading, deep mud, hill climbing etc.

Is their much difference in the departure angles?

yes.

overall a 90 will win.

out in the deserts, safari comps etc. a 110 prob best. devon 4x4 just built an awesome 110 tray-back designed for just that.

In standard form a 90 is better. But if you mod a 110 then it can be as good if not better than a 90. I have never found anywhere where a 90 can go that I can not take my 110.

so to sum up what you've just said in less words are you trying to say that they are both as good as each other?

i suppose the 110 would struggle with some sharp corners, with it being a bit longer.

But i can't see why it wouldn't be as good as a 90

This could rumble on for days. Basically, if you own a 90, then 90s are best. However if you own a 110, they're best. I own a 110, therefore 110s are the best. Hang on a minute, I've got an 88 too, oh **** I'm confused now:confused:

I have a better turning circle on my 110 than a standard 90. But its the rear over-hang and the ramp over angle where the 90 wins. I find a 90 too small for me. I have done better than some 90s and hybreads in trials in my 110. But its all down to the way its set up.

As posted above, a longer wheel base is beter at speed, towing and climding steps. But a 90 will do better at some other things, like over a high mound wherethe 110 will catch on the chassis and the rear cross member. 110s get caught out on rutsaswell, due to having the Salisbury axle on the rear (not fitted to the later ones) as its a lot bigger than a standard Rover diff.

But as always, some will say a 90 is better others will say a 110 is.

i'm getting dizzy going round all these circles

i only asked just in case someone had a well reasoned case for how/why one is better than another

monday is obviously generalization day

I MADE my old 109" petrol go anywhere my mate V6 88" went :D

How good would 109" be with disco suspension and running gear be?
