Hello all,

After 20+ years of longing I have finally bought my first Landy.

Stoked, from Surrey.

Here's a piccie.

I have been told that this is a factory order automatic which went through JE Engineering from the LR factory. I haven't been able to confirm this as JE Engineering's records only go back 6 years. Its a shame as I would love to know the full spec.

It has Carter 4 barrel carbs and Edelbrock manifold, the rest of the spec is unknow as yet.

Oh, and that it once belonged to "The Cure" drummer BorisBransby-Williams.

Not too far from me then. Lived in Cranleigh for a year or so, but that was in pre-Landy days. (That is, before I got a Landy...)
Would be good to find some lanes round the area, and any local LR clubs if you know of them.

Yeah, looking to get some off road driving practice in before taking my baby off road. Are there any good courses that could be recommended? I see the LR experiance ones are mighty expensive.

Don't know of any to recommend, sorry, but then I haven't tried to find anything local.

I think we're in the same boat, so to speak. I've already driven it about 1000 miles (need to watch my limited-mileage insurance!) since buying it last month, but the only off-road stuff has been in camping fields.

I know the Landy is capable of it (the pics were in the ebay ad!) it's me who needs the work...

Hello mate, I ve got a V8 and am actually in Cranleigh! Any time you want to pop out send me a PM there are some fun lanes round here!
Howard

Nice one Howard. I am a total novice so any advice is gratefully received. I'll look out for you rumbling through Cranleigh then.
Cheers,
Fiona

Hey Medusa - has your tuck had a new roof? Everything looks right for a county apart from the lack of sunroof and alpine lights in the roof.

Apparently not, I was supprised too. Might fit Alpine lights but glad it dosen't have a sunroof, someting else to leak :)

Can't beat the feeling of climbing into the cab to get out of the rain only to sit on a nice soggy seat cushion.
