Bought a tow bar for the 90 a few months ago and finally need to use it so opened the packaging and it all looks there, however, I've tried to loose fit it and the arms that go back to the chassis look like they are not angled enough to fit smoothly on.
It's not one of the Dixie ones but part number: VPLDT0084

Is there meant to be a union like piece between the chassis and the long arms?

I found a thread from 3 years ago on here, but if anyone can upload a handful of photos that would be handy!

What I was getting at is what model is your vehicle (or the year of manufacture)?
The fact that you have got an old Disco 200TDi fitted must mean that it is pre-TD5 in which case you bought the wrong tow-bar. The fuel-tank moved to the rear after the 300TDi and the towbar is different between the two models.
A quick search shows that your towbar fits vehicles manufactured after Nov 98 (i.e. TD5).

On his page it says he has an 86 Ninety. ;) And if so, he needs one of these.
