Hi can any body recommend a garage to change the belt on the above in the north east (Gateshead area) and how much I should be paying..it's a 200tdi.

My local garage charged me £350 for a timing belt/kit change on a VW Golf so around the same for your Landy I suppose.

Give me till later this evening (I hope) and I am writing a 'How To' with a butt load of photos so people such as yourself can DIY....lot cheaper!

Will look forward to that. I'm on the way to making your crank pulley tool but having to get quotes for the steel rings - I don't have a lathe big enough

Wicked ask them to change the front crank oil seal while they are at it as if it goes after you have done it you will kick yourself. They will have it in bits and accessible anyway so only a small amount of work extra for them

Getting changed at the same time thanks for the info about that would never have thought of that this is my first Landy.
