I disagree with that the middles seat is suitable for humans, it is just not suitable for any length of time. Put your wife/gf in the middle and changing gear becomes the perfect excuse for a quick grope, or your other option is put someone you don't like in the middle and then it is the perfect excuse to elbow them in the stomach!

Joking aside however I do completely agree with your sentiment, the middle seat is not suitable for people on a regular basis or for any length of time/distance. It works as an occasional cram as many people in as possible to get somewhere local, and that is all.
Best not get confused when the daughter’s sat upfront. Might get a visit from social services!

I think I'm going to go for the 90, Ive seen one I like but its miles away! Does anyone know T and T Motors in Leeds? they specialise in Defenders

Well, their prices certainly look reasonable which makes a nice change.
Although every one of the 27 Defender 90's on their website appears to be "sold, sorry" except for two TDCi's

I wanted a TD5 but the red TDCi i thought was good price. I just wondered if it was legit, Its a long way from me so don't want a wasted journey!

lt looks legitimate as it's a dealer.

However

Their reviews on Yell.com are terrible. l would maybe pay someone like the RAC to go and inspect it if you are genuinely interested.

The dealer shouldn't mind if they've nothing to hide.

But check out the reviews, they don't inspire confidence.

The Land Rover COULD be OK
Definitely get RAC or similar inspection before buying.

I didn't notice the Yell.com reviews, I'll have a look now. I was concerned that they're not on Companies House

WOW! just checked the reviews on YELL.com!!! thanks for the tip, I won't be looking at that Defender

l don't know, both adults and the kid in the front, dogs in the back

We often carried my friend and her daughter in the front seats of our 90 TD5.
The daughter was fine with being in the centre, although she was fairly slim.
l wouldn't want to do 400 miles with three in the front, but shorter journeys were alright.

I carried 12 in my Series 3 SWB when I was a student... but I wouldn’t do it now with my 90! I’ve become a bit more responsible!:D

There were some great adventures done back in the day. When l was 11 my dad took me to Spain and we camped for a
week there, we got a lift over the Pyranees in a VW microbus full of hippies then hitch hiked across France, which took a week.

Thanks for all your advice guys, I went for the 90. Its a bit tight with three in the front but will be fitting either 4 x Exmoor trim seats in the back or 2 Exmoor forward facing seats (can't make my mind up).
Finally a Defender owner and loving it!!

Good start. Get a tracker too as a minimum. But whatever else you do, I’d avoid advertising it here.

Looks a great 90 and being a hardtop will be cheaper to tax.
Easy to convert if you ever fancy rear windows/seats and now you
can get aftermarket rear trim panels it's a lot cheaper too.
