It will certainly see some action . Although it is nice and shiny my workshop is quite in the sticks and the lanes have been 2 ft in water and mud for weeks - Im sure I will also get dragged off road by a few friends who love getting down and dirty .

Now its all back together
I can start sorting the interior
I had an original headliner for the front so I stripped that and recovered in a grey material I use on T4 and T5's
allows all the original ridges to show through
Looks like it could be factory - well sort of .
I then covered the rear section in a Thin high density foam
Then covered in the same material
I put a double layer of foam at the front to give a step to fill the gap between the front and back - the seam is now very clean
You can seen the step better here and at the rear the foam that I used to cover the back section - this is thicker to allow covering to be tucked behind the edges to get a good looking edge

looks great, coming along nicely. I've got similar plans for my interior thinking acoustic carpet faced hardboard side panels (windows cutout) and spraying the roof ribs and fitting some foam maybe camping matting if i can find some in the recesses. are you going to paint your interior would be a shame not too.Sam

It's a keeper for a while but the nature of my business means that everything with wheels is for sale - which probably seems a bit of a shame but there is always something better or rarer that I could buy with the profit .

Hi Sam - The sides will all be lined like the roof - I have to sort out the seats and seatbelts first - Looking to build a kit that will allow 2 front facing seats in the back - with 3 point inertia belts - Done the design in head and just need to get the steel and weld it up .

A bit more work done -
I have a bit of a thing about the environment that I drive in and want it all to look like it should belong in there - So the sun visors needed some work - Yes I did say sun visors
So this is how they were - filthy to say the least
Once cleaned up they looked ok but still had some stains
I also thought the light grey would stand out too much from the planned dark grey and black interior - So out came the dye
Once fitted they blend in nicely - They have a few finger marks on here from the powder on new seals
Rear view mirror cleaned up well
New seals for the front vents fitted - hence the finger marks
Next choice is seats - I want 4 the same and had to make a choice between MGF
Or these are MK2 MR2 seats
In the end MGF won through - The MR2 ones are for sale at £35 the pair if anyone is interested
Next up were the vents - This is how they were .
Once bare metalled they went into etch and then primer
Finally painted in body colour and fitted back in place - even go back flat with the new seals

Those mr2 seats look nice and supportive.

I managed to get a 2nd pair for £5.03 on e bay - simples
MR2 ones are better seats really but dont want to spend months looking for 2nd pair - need this on the road asap

i used the same aerial... from halfords right? bloody useful off road
Its a blue point / snap on , palm sander .
Best tool I ever got .
I got it off ebay for £50 and thats about right for one on there .
Takes very little air to run and its comfortable to use . could'nt recommend enough.
