Another good build thread, loving this. I'm also a T4 owner up in Andover so not too far away from you. Unfortunately to get my Landy fix my T4 will be getting sold in 2013. In an ideal world the missus would let me buy the Landy as my third vehicle as I really don't want to sell the T4, it's just too useful.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing the finished project.

Strangely my Landrover could well end up being sold to fund a T4 or T5 . I was going to try and keep it but as my business builds VW's I need a rolling advert for the shows .
I am lucky enough to have some pretty rare cars that I am building for myself , 1948 Chevy pickup , 1964 21 window samba , 1952 split window bug . However the parts alone are hugely expensive as well as the time required .

A T4 or 5 is an easy build and parts are very cheep in comparison .

Im also very lucky whereas my wife is very accepting of my car addiction and never bats an eye when a new project turns up - ;);)

A little more work done .

Roof drying after base coat

Base coat finished

Clear coat on and drying between coats - roof seal all replaced before painting

Dyring after final paint

Will require colour sanding but there is alot of clear so will be no problem.

IMG_5915.jpg

Once dry it was put back into position .

IMG_5916.jpg

The tub is still sitting a bit high so a small adjustment will be required before the roof can be finally fitted

More work done

The front spats fitted

Again a better idea of the 2 tone - sorry about pictures , the auto focus on the camera decided not to work

IMG_5981.jpg

A real moment of achievement - The body all sealed and bolted back in position - Back together at last

Shame about the focus but you get the idea

Replacement window vents fitted

Well after following this thread i have bitten the bullet and having my 90/300Tdi sprayed , thought it may look good in met/green with black roof/bonnet ! I have yet to break the news to her indoors !! Any way this 90 looks great wish i had the space to give mine a go instead of paying some one to do mine.
Happy New Year All.

I have had two quotes one is £1500 and £1200 that is dents out and inside sprayed .

That sounds pretty good , especially for metallic .

I reckon I have nearly £600 in paint alone now and thats without the prep materials - Just make sure they do any repairs - like the door bottoms while they are there - It will also need to be bare metal to get the aluminium oxide off - otherwise it will just bubble up again .
I do this in my spare time when im not doing customers stuff ( VW ) so time is free really but in paid time I would be into 100's of hours .

Not a cheep vehicle if you are paying for it !!

Yep i was thinking of giving a hand to get it to bare metal as i know the guy and get on with him , also i don,t work these days so time on my hands . ( 60+ retired )

That looks so cool! Your only a 30 second drive from me, looking forward to seeing it on the road!

Cool - I guess it will be an easy spot .
Say hello if you see me around - I hope to have it on the road by the end of Jan

My T4 made way for my 90. :(

I spent thousands on it, converting from a van to a camper and then i was too scared to be driving it anywhere. When someone opened there door into it(while i was in the drivers seat) and just shrugged at me and went to walk away, i knew that it was time to go. :( People have no respect for other peoples property these days.

Now in me 90, i dont care if they dent the door, it just joins the collection. :D
