Well who's a lucky boy? Posted today on Freecycle :

Set of five original spec steel rims from 1995 Defender 110, four
fitted with Avon Rangemaster tryes, one spare inner tube. Need a
respray but otherwise OK and un damaged.

I had collected them and fitted them within an hour of my new best mate, Bob :D:D:D, putting them on Freecycle. And unlike the Wolf ones which were coming my way, the studs are spot on.

Now can anyone remember which issue of LRO had the Eddie Evans guide to wheel painting? Oh, and what pressure do people run their big wheels at?

Canny wait to get out in them tomorrow and see how fast I can go :D. One thing though in the short distance I did the day in them is that the steering is much heavier!

The R refers to the speed rating - not sure of the exact figures, but R is plenty for a 109.

actually it relates to the tyre being radial

750R16 is for radial tyre
750x16 normally is used for crossply

the speed rating comes after

...(correct me if im wrong) but I know theres def 2 types.

3 types i think

1. early double ended for s1, s2 and 2a
2. circa 1970 shorter ones for 2A half length but on same thread/spanner size as above
3. later shorter ones that need a bigger spanner

right i'm off to buy an anorak :D

7.50 is a crossply size cos it refers to the width in inches.. radials are measured in mm's i/e 205

you dunt get 7.50 x 16 radials

sorry slob but nutsaboutseries is correct, how long you been away from blighty. Sons s11a is on 750r16 that are radials, all 110's that we service for local council are fitted with 750r16 goodyears.

I think crossply is now 750B16 for bias belted
