though strictly not military, but the same to the tac2's used by the RAF does anyone know were i can get the correct brake master cylinder?

Is your current master cylinder a knackered correct one or is it the wrong one?
If it is the correct one then you could measure the internal dimensions and compare it with standard parts.
Alternatively, are Carmichael still in business? They may know if they changed the master cylinder. As the standard Range Rover had a pressure reducing valve for the rear brakes there is a good chance that they stuck with the standard master cylinder.

as far as i know its the correct one but knackered, Carmichael are long gone, there is a plate attached to the wing saying it has non standard pistons in it, which is part of the problem in that it needs a replacement piston

So standard Range Rover master cylinder with a non-standard piston?
