My land rover defender was stolen at merry hill centre monday 3rd sept at 10.53am , just to say I purchased from LANDROVER DEALERSHIP last wed,and only done 40-50 miles in it , so when my wife went to merry hill shopping centre yesterday and arrived at 10-35 am CCTV shows the car being taken at 10.53 am this was the only time the car had not being in our view since we had picked up from the garage last wed, the car is an xs model , 4000 miles , Orkney grey , black half leather , side steps the latest defender wheels grey and polished finish , tow bar with chrome cover on ball reg no VN61PFU, seat covers on front seats with a umbrella emblem on top righthand corners , I just cannot believe a car we have less than week as gone it was only out of our viewable possession for that short period of time , reward offered for return

You are one unlucky bugger, i'm sure everyone here will keep an eye open for it. Good luck and let us know if it turns up

If they are going to try sell it one one on here will spot it they can smell a rat in a sealed bag at the other end of the country.

Did you get two sets of keys when you bought the truck ?

To be pinched in broad daylight in a busy public place in around 15 mins could suggest the thieves had a set. Even if you got two sets, it's not exactly difficult to make up another one if somebody had access to the correct records etc.

If you haven't already done so, it might be worth a call to the Dealer.

i have the two sets of keys,

How did the CCTV see it being stolen? Was it lifted? Did they drive it away?

What security did you have on it at the time? Clutch Claw? Tracker?

Have the police attempted to follow it by CCTV records? A shopping centre sounds like a place where a lot of street traffic would be on file from shops etc.

car was driven away, the police said to they did not reconize the thief and 3 hours after it had been stolen they said the case was no filed ,

Ok,

So did the CCTV camera catch a person entering with a key? - Blinkers flashed etc etc?

There was no security on the car then? If they had the key they still would not have had one for a Clutch Claw or a Stoplock?

Apologies for all the questions. Just helps me narrow down what exactly happened.

Thanks,

S

Insider job for sure. They cannot close a case after just 3 hours. File a complaint, not like that will do much but keep on fighting.

Sorry for your loss

How about looking at it a different way.... It is a used car and the reg is Severn valley area (Worcester).

Have you perhaps thought who the previous owner was?

This is maybe a long shot but was it repossessed by a finance company? Did you do an HPI check on it before you bought it?

Normally they would just visit the home of the current registered keeper. As far as I am aware that is, sure I saw something on tv about it
