Hi

As you can tell from the title i am 6 foot 6 tall and need a bit of help. Me n my girlfreind are planning a trip round the world next year and would love to go in a defender but the problem is there does not seem to be to much room in the front. Has anyone changed the way the seats are to get the larger person into them????

Any info would be great.

Cheers Adam :D

I'm 6'4"" and my lad's 6'5". there's plenty of room in the front of our 110 for us. Only thing I might do is fit a smaller steering wheel but I like big ones so dunno about that. You can get a kit to remove most of the bulkhead behind the seats so you can shove em further back if you want.

Hi there,
I'm 6'4" and I have fitted a smaller steering wheel and raised the seat and moved it back as far as possible.
You can get even more space if you remove the centre bulkhead (using a bulhead removal bar), but mine is a truck cab, so I can't do that.

If you do a search, I've posted some pictures on here in the past.

Oh - and welcome to loonyzone.

These guys make seat extension rails for Defenders. Problem solved.

Supposed to be the shizzle, dont need them myself though.

Amputation you freek! it's the only way forward!

no really, I've seen people fit steel box section where the runners bolt to the seat box... then the runners have to be bolted down to the box section. this lets you mount the seats further back. This is all fine if you have a 110 CSW where there's no bulkhead...but completley pointless if you dont:eek:

have you thought about sitting in the back and putting blocks on your feet?:D

thanx again for all your help, we are going to look at defenders and discoverys tomorrow !!!

The Mudstuff rails are quality items. Even with a bukhead fitted they lift the seat and give more leg room. without the bulkhead removal kit though they are a bit limited. I'm a dwarf at 6'2" so I fit quite well.

Yes we had a look at lots of diffent landrover vehicles and we have settled on a 110 defender and have £5000 to spend .

So if anyone has one for sale then drop me a line.
