Hi everyone
hopefully someone can shed some light on a problem i have with my wifes
range rover tdv8 2008,try to start vehicle i get all ignition lights , but vehicle wont turn over ,at first i thought it was a flat battery, however i changed battery with a brand new heavy duty one ,then tried to start it and lo and behold the car started so i thought yes, sorted but was short lived within five minutes , hazard lights started to flash and radio and sat nav flashed on off and on off all the time vehicle was running and various warning lights on dash , suspension fault , hand brake fault ,etc ,so i turned vehicle off and back to square one get ignition lights but car wont turn over , i have been at the vehicle for a couple of weeks now still no joy , but i have discovered that if i disconnect battery and leave it disconnected for a couple of hours the vehicle will start but go into the cycle of above faults hopefully some clever person on here has came across this same fault and can point me in the right direction of where to start looking
kind regards jim

Sounds like a poor earth connection somewhere to me.
Check all the earth straps between body and chassis/engine.

Wot he said.
Add to that , I had a similar issue a couple of
years ago. I didnt have time to go searching each earth strap, as was sitting in drive packed to go to London. AA guy and I guessed at it being engine earth, so put a new one on. It did the job and is still there.

A duff alternator could also be the problem. Check the battery voltage when the lights start flashing.

no joy yet checked all earth points i can find stripped and cleaned and refitted
but it made no difference
still the same fault

Do you have a multimeter? If so check that the crank signal is sent to the starter motor at the relay in the underbonnet fuse box When trying to start the car.
