my freelander bmw diesel 53 plate thursday night my charging light came on then my dash was light up like a christmas tree the enging then lost power and stopped got the motor going with jump leads happened about 3 miles down the road rested it started again got it back home but it started also blowing blue smoke, i have charged the battery booking in for alternator check starts ok slight flat spot at about 2 to 3000 revs but its still blowing blue smoke at start up and when rev up PCV Valve as be upgraded would the alternator not preducing charge affect the ECU and make it produce blue smoke, HELP.

Low voltage can cause all ECUs to behave weirdly.
yes thought it would just hope it all is back ok after its alternator is repaired or replaced the blue smoke is bothering me it did before a tiny bit on start up but then after a few seconds stopped but at the moment its quiet concerning,

Low battery voltage can make the display binnacle do some pretty whacky stuff.
As for the blue smoke, keep an eye on the dip stick, if the oil is dropping, you have a problem, if not, then it's just residual oil in the intake burning off.
