This RR is being sold over here as one of the 100 50th Anniversary P38s...

Am I correct in thinking this is not one of the 100.

If I'm right the 50th Anniversary Limited Edition vehicles were the 'special' ones of which only 100 were made. These would all have a Land Rover Special Vehicles metal plate riveted to the body somewhere and have screens in the headrests, pic-nic tables etc. This is just one of the many 1,000s of Land Rovers sold in '98 with a 50th Anniversary sticker on it.
 
Considering there were only 100 made, there appear to be 1,000's of these "rare" beasts for sale around the world!

What you say rings a bell. @Saint.V8 is the man when it comes to all the different editions.
 
If I hadmy book of words with me I could look it up and see whats what....but I am on hols atthe moment and dont have the book to hand!
 
P38A Range Rover 50th Anniversary ‘Vogue 50’ Limited Edition models. They were based on the Autobiography programme and were the most expensive Range Rover up to that point, at £71,000.

This car is one of the 30 CARIN types built with the CARIN satellite navigation system, TV and VCR player and screens in the headrests.

The paint was Atlantis Blue and extended to the bumpers, sills and mirrors. The seat trim had blue piping and the interior featured a lot of wood and blue trimmings. The original plan to build 50 vehicles was extended to 100 due to demand.

The 50th Anniversary Limited Edition is a rare collector’s edition of the P38A which was for many years the ‘unloved Range Rover’ which, over the past few years, is gradually being appreciated for its qualities and the fact that is the last vehicle developed and built by Land Rover before its acquisition by BMW, then Ford and latterly Tata.

That probably isn't one of the Vogue 50 vehicles. It doesn't have the correct badging for starters. Might've been one of the 70 vehicles that never got satnav/tv/vcr though.

Right I have my book of words in front of me....

I shall paraphrase and shorten the paragraphs:

LR celebrated with a series of 'Collectors Editions'.... one of each of the LR four models were chosen.....
The 4.6 HSE was chosen as the Range Rover to use and was badged on the back with Vogue 50.....
Original plan was to build just 50 examples.....30 with CARiN sat nav and priced at £71k and 20 without priced at £68k....
Demand was huge so they double production to 100 examples....
Every Range Rover Vogue 50 was painted in Atlantis Blue Micatallic colour, with cills, bumpers, apron spoiler and door mirror covers to match....
All had a single white gold coach line down the side.....
Wheels were 18" Proline Alloys....
Darkened window privacy glass all round.....
A numbered '50th Anniversary' brass plate was fitted to the front face of the B pillar.....
Parchment leather with Atlantic Blue piping.....
The gearshift, handbrake cover and door pulls were also Atlantis Blue and there were Atlantis Blue over rugs.....
Chromed interior door handles helped to set off the deluxe walnut wood trim set and matching fold down picnic tables on the backs of the front seats....
A video player fed twin television screens mounted in the rear of the front headrests and ther ewas a three-piece set of 'Vogue 50' branded travel luggage made of black Nappa Leather.


Hope that helps to identify the Vogue 50 models....
 
With the anniversary defender, Japanese models didn't get the ltd edition plaque with serial number, some were white and another colour I can't remember, I think all UK ones were Atlantis blue.
Then a few examples were ordered from other parts of the world from special vehicles while the production run was active, not badged as such but v8 autos made up from the same parts bin. My own was an order cancelled from the royal family if Tahiti.
Point being, it could be a 50th range rover. Chassis no. will help you find out
 
If you follow that link the car has been relisted without saying it is one of the 100 (or 96). He's still saying it is a "RARE" car which it isn't, and that it is "unique" - which all cars are with their little scratches and marks - but not in the way he is portraying it!

He's also saying that you only get Atlantis Blue on the Anniversary models - which I recon may be wrong as well.

Its a lot more accurate than it was though!
