Afternoon folks, village idiot here!
Did an oil change on the 5.0L big beast a week ago, filling her up with SLX as instructed. Topped up bit-by-bit to get the dip reading right on the dash, and like a true amateur managed to go past the mid-mark to "Engine Overfill" condition.
It can't be massively over-filled as I was topping up in pretty small amounts, just must have not left enough time with the colder weather to let it properly fill. But I think I should probably let some back out given that these engines don't like being mucked about (or am I paranoid).
The V8 in mine has both a sump plug and a suction point on the head so I can either jack her up and climb under take off the pan and drain, or extract oil by suction.
Very quick question: I don't have a suction pump, but I do have a long thin section of clean unused clear rubber tubing - I'm thinking stick it in there and suck a few gobfulls out.
Anyone done this?
Thanks!
Jock

One of those small pumps that go on yer drill will do a better job, and it wont taste crap;)
