Can anyone tell me how hard it is to tuneup a toyota 4Runner 87 and
maybe suggest a book or website where I can get step by step
instructions how to do it?
I'm not into car repair but I would like to learn and probably save
some money doing it to my 4x4. is it possible at all?

Thank you in advance!

It depends what you mean by "tuneup".

If you mean replacing spark plugs, wires, and distributor cap and rotor, it
should be pretty easy. (Tip: Change plugs and wires 1 at a time so there's
no chance of reconnecting them wrong.)

If you mean adjusting the carb and/or timing, you are more likely to mess it
up than to improve it.

Chilton and Haynes publish books on specific models. Retail auto parts
stores usually stock them.
