My diesel Auto I dont think is enagaging 4th gear...I looked at the rpm at 70 mph- its just a little over 2600rpm ( flat road no load or passengers)

What are the change points for each gear typically?

What causing this to happen?

I have changed the Fuel filter- thinking that the engine might be being starved of fuel..
I also cleaned the MAF- it look clean, but how can you test it? is one of those things which gradually gets worse or just dies instantly?
Appreciate your replies....

What was it doing before, those sound reasonable revs for 70 to me, not familiar with that vehicle though, although you don't say which RR diesel it is, (I can think of 7, but I'm not sure they were all available as Autos) but that still sounds reasonable for any of them
