Hi all some of you may know my gearbox is ruined so I'm currently doing the 4hp-24 box instead of the 22 in my 2.5 diesel. Can you please tell me if Im supposed to swap the front clutch basket and shaft over as well as the oil pump and bell housing as the input shaft is different between the box's thanks.

I can only find that people have changed the bell housing and oil pump probably just me doing something wrong will try swapping the parts back later to see if I can get it to fit. Can anyone shed any light on this.

Yes provided it's the newer box. The older one is longer.

The only thing you need to change over nis the bellhousing and on the earlier HP 24 the oil pump to accept the Torque converter drive'
I am changing mine at the moment and hope to have it running by the week end.
the later box number should end with a 065

today I picked up my RR with the HP 24 fitted and the mechanic that fitted it said he had no problems and just changed the bellhousing and torque converter over >
I would have done it myself but Im getting to old to go crawling under cars and lifting gearboxes into place.
Next week i will put it on SORN as im going back to Oz for 3 months but having a stopover in Abu Darbi where I have got a 4x4 hire car ( i think its a pajero which in some countries translates as ****er so they are not called that in Chile but a galloper) aqnd will spend a couple of weeks touring the Arab Emirates and Oman.
Next year when I come back I hope to be taking the RR to some of the Stan that I havnt been to Tajikistan in particular.
Should be all ready and just a set of new tyres to go on and every thing should be OK.
