We often use to soak the gas parts of our automatic rifles in lemonade to remove carbon deposits, works a treat
Looked more oxidation than carbonation?

Sorry, forgot to mention carbon tet but this stuff is outlawed these days unless somebody has got a can still!
Saints method certainly works and would be great if it were a 500cc single motorcycle.......but it isn't.
Yup, I think you'll find it's him on the tools on this particular job (unless he's got a ghost spannerer stand in).
Whilst I am the spanner-man......it was Wammers method I have employed to try and loosen the rings....
Only because he gets his c*ck out. It was posted earlier but Coke really does work. My uncle was a marine engineer, one day in dry dock the were trying to remove a propeller from it's shaft. They had huge pullers, super heaters etc on the job without success, a Yank passing the dock shouted "I'll send you something that will get that off". Half an hour later he turned up with a couple of crates of Coke. The lads thought it was to drink, he said pour it over the shaft/shaft and leave it for 12 hours. It popped of like a cock in a three cornered hat.Wammers is really one with the ladies !
