My battery suddenly drained a few weeks ago, I suspected it was because of a neighbour using a chainsaw to cut down trees about 5 metres from my parking space. He was at it again today and my battery suddenly drained again.

Anyone else had this experience?

there are a lot of household stuff now that wakes up the becm, remote door bells weather stations wifi routers ----- and is a common problem of battery drain, if that is your problem you can do thishttp://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f10/rf-reciever-work-round-258096.html

Gotta love the antisocial P38 with a "leave me alone" attitude. You sneeze near it and the P38s brain is fried.

Thanks, I know, I was asking about chainsaws.... :)

Really, Maybe Russian satellites are robbing you of power

An unsuppressed spark plug is effectively a transmitter of RF, early transmitters were spark based, so it's not inconceivable that the chain saw affected the RF receiver.

Pretty unlucky to have a 433 Mhz chainsaw though. :D:D Would have thought most modern units would be suppressed.

The output of a spark transmitter covers a huge range of frequencies and harmonics. It would have been suppressed when new, but there is no control over what has been done by the owner, I have had farm machinery and electric fences round here interfering with the sound on TV from some distance.

A spark is an impulse, and if you analyse the spectrum of an impulse it is uniform across the entire frequency spectrum.

Wow. I remember stuff from uni!

Well all i can say is i have two brush cutters, a leaf blower, two petrol generators, a Stihl saw, a ride on mower and a chainsaw the same model that Noah used to cut wood for the ark and none of them effect the P38 even when started next to it. :D:D:D

Greedy bugger:rolleyes: Either they all have the correct suppressed spark plugs fitted or your P38 has a Mk3 receiver:):):)

Don't have clue which RF receiver i have fitted. Don't have problems with stray signals though. Mind you up north we are a bit behind and all the electric is run off gas. :D:D:D

If my wife uses her Blackberry phone while seated in the front passenger seat, the EAS goes bananas after 10 sec. So she is expelled to the back seat if she want to surf the WWW while we are driving.

Iphones are not that bad, usually takes about 2-4 minutes of surfing before the EAS gets it.

Owners manual mentions not using mobile phone due to the risk of interference. However Samsung with a DAS of less than 0.3 cause no problems. Blackberry will cook eggs with the RF radiation.

And your brain. :D:D:D
