My Series 3 gear box seems OK in high range, can push down 4WD button and it stays down....

Put her in Low range and push button down, and it pops back up......

Why??

ffs heidi, low box is automatically 4wd on a series, yer dint need to push the lever down

Why? Because it's working properly. If you push the Yellow one down in High, it stays down giving 4wd, when you move the redlever to low range it disengages high 4wd. the yellow button pops up, if you move it back forward to high range you're back in 2wd. Red all the way back for low range 4wd.

Ask a simple question and the dipsticks come out......

Marcus, I cope with a 16 speed box pulling 44 tons at work......

but you can't cope with a 4 speed avec hi/low ratio.. how quaint! and you really should put yer dip sticks back in else ye might get water in yer oil

So what I asked a dumb question, bet there are others out there who did not know......

Marcus, you stay OFF road, too many tossers on the roads as it is...

Probably. There's also others who would do a search on here to find one of the numerous threads on the subject & save themselves the embarrassment of asking.

I think you've amply demonstrated that. Thanks for the advice.

Weeeeell, FFS Heidi, you do/ask something dumb, you get stick for it, you larf it off & move on. Anything else just confirms that you've got a small willy and no sense of humour.

It's just how it works!

He'll be buying a mountain bike next!
