my first post.... think i've done it right :)

hi, does anyone have or know what the exact length of each ignition lead is in mm for a 1999 4.6 thor engined range rover? and what number lead corresponds to what length? i've just bought a set of 8 leads. they are not numbered . obviously i need 4 for the right side and 4 for the left side of the engine, i thought they would be the same length on each side, but they are not, one lead in the pair is slightly shorter, not by much but noticable. so i wondered if anyone had the lengths of each lead and there corresponding number so i can fit them as they should go.
any help or suggestions would be much appreciated....
thanks :D

Hopefully you have slim hands as they are tricky to get to at the non-plug end. Are you doing the plugs as well? They are platinum's in that engine (£££££) unless you use standard ones (£) (like I will next time around).

hello, yes was planning on changing one lead at a time, but just wanted to make sure these new leads i have were the right length as they are ALL different lengths. so i could send them back if thay are wrong. and yes i've recently replaced the plugs with new ngk platinum ones thanks.
i'd be furious if when i started to change them i had the wrong ones. so thought i'd do a little forward planning first...
so any idea on the lengths for the 8 leads.
thanks again

Might be a stickler for detail and someone who records every last detail of parts that they have fitted on here to a file on their PC....but I doubt it...unless someone proves me wrong!!!!

As has been posted, the majority just change them one at a time and check them side by side as they go along

Take the cheapo rubbish back,go to the LR dealer and buy a real set - they have the numbers on there to help you.

i can get a set from LR for £50 + vat thro someone i know. ended up buying some that are apparently better than magnecor if not on par with them for £100. wanted to give them a go. looks like i have no option than to take out one at a time and measure them up before fitting. the whole point of wanting to know the length was because i didnt want to start it then find out i had the wrong ones.... oh well:(
