Hi where will i find the crank sensor on the 4.6 ? found the cam sensor at the front. any pics of it ?

hi, its def m reg 4.6 hse , think it was the 1st of the models.
it backfires and ticks over very rough . had the coil pack changed , new leads, new plugs , comp fine fuel fine.
had a couple of replies suggesting the crank sensor , ordered 1 on line which has 2 bolt holes in it but cant find anything like it , found a sensor on the opp side to the starter at about the same height but it looks like a nut with a sensor and wires which is about the size of a spark plug spanner ?
not sure if this is it .
any advice with regards to the backfire will be good
