hi guys

The temp gauge on my 4.6 hse never seems to go out of the blue on the gauge. It normally sits Between the first and second line of the blue but sometimes goes up to the edge of the blue on a long journey.

Surely this isn’t right and it should be around the 12 o clock position?

Could it be a faulty sensor?

Thanks

Davo

It’s definitely not over heating. Will check the thermostat and sensor. I did a bit of digging on google and it seems to be quite a common fault. But have yet to find a definitive cause. On a plus note I filled up Friday night £113, have used half a tank and Ive done about 185 miles so far. Not as bad as my m3 was that was about 250 miles on £100 worth of fuel.

A locked Viscous fan can also cause over cooling.

Cheap thermostats do this. V8s don't like running cold ask me how I know! Only buy oem. There made by gates. The price is the way to tell.

See what you mean about the price. May as well do all the hoses at the same time.
