Hi,

My dad's P38 has an issue where the engine turns over but doesn't start, never done it before, the guy we normally use is not around (long story) he mentioned the engine is out of sync with ECU. He did have the alternator changed so this has probably caused it but just needs looking at and a re-sync.

I am aware of members on the map but I would appreciate if anyone in the Essex area would be able to assist my dad as he is not able to work on it and does not have Nanacom etc. He would cover your time.

It will need to be a home visit, lives in Brentwood.

If any member could drop me a private message if you can visit him and help it would be much appreciated as it is sad to see him not being able to drive what he loves most.

What age? GEMS?
 
all thor 4.6's were Vogues..

assuming the PO knows his car, then i'd say it's a gems if it is indeed a 4.6 HSE,

This is on the premise that any Nanocom GEMS or Motronic licensed version can talk to the BeCM and enter unlock codes and the like.
I'm happy to go if my petrol is covered <£10. I am only 16 miles distant.

Not yet mate my dad is ordering a nanocom for his now for future issues and to resync his car as has the same issue as Marty's website (see photos attached) it is a 4.6 Gems engine for sure 1997 not 1998.

Both '97 and '98 will be GEMS. Marty has been working away a lot recently but I believe a friend is helping send stuff out for his website.

Ahh no worries I will order the RF receiver from his website tomorrow least get that issue sorted just wait for nanocom to arrive and hopefully sync it back up
 
Bit of an update bought the sync mate done the job and 20amp fuse blew in engine fuse box aswell for Engine management. However all matter of strange things occurred when it started:
1. Blower motor stuck on full blast on one side error message on HEVAC.
2. Battery completely drained.
3. Engine kept cutting out like lost electrical power, when battery was left on charge with engine running was ok.
4. Gearbox fault.

It just seems like it is throwing a temper. Very strange.

Any thoughts?

Hopefully there is not a poltergeist in there seems like it ha ha.:D:eek:
