Now here is a daft question. How do you see the instant mpg on the trip computer? I only seem to have avarage...Please...
 
I havent reset trip 2 since buying my rangie, avr 13 mpg, doing school run and heavy right foot on roads, would love to drive more smoothly and get better mpg but it just sounds so damn good when being pushed :biggrin1:
 
I too have put a Janspeed exhaust on, sounds gorgeous. I have had 26 mpg on a motorway run, average 18 to 19 otherwise.
 
Yes, I do think the Janspeed stainless system is very good value for money. And also sounds veeery good...
 
I have done a fair bit of work to my 4.6 to improve the economy/performance it averages between 16 with a lead foot to 26 on a run.

Just done my first tankfull of LPG on my new P38 (78ltrs) - 13.5mpg on country roads - have no idea if it is good or bad....
 
I get around 12.5-12.9 around town, and between 13.5-15 on way to work which is a 50/50 of country roads and motorway, about 10 miles total, Sam
 
Realistically my 4.6 was around 13-14mpg on lpg a little higher on petrol (poss 15-17) a mix of town and dual carriageway. Had full stainless exhaust with decat but cant compare to standard as it came that way.








I miss the sound :) but not the issues :p

4.6; 14-16 on local roads, 22 on a run. Nice to read about other experiences. Was tempted to go for 2.5DSE but I'm glad I didn't. With a tight recon engine and a new full exhaust system the sound is worth the price, especially booting it, it's more like an F1 car sound!! But I have to admit, at low speed it just does not rumble as nice as my old 1978 3.5 with a Janspeed on. When passing under a bridge that thing could shake the mortar out of the bricks :D:D:D

Have recently bought a cheap smaller car for zipping to and from work, which does about 31mpg, thus halving the fuel bill for a start. A Mk3 Golf for 600 quid and it does the job, but although it's only a couple of years older that the RR it's quite rusty (none on RR) and the gearbox is on its way out....

I don't think the RR likes being parked next to it, you can just tell ;)

Defiantly a good idea if you do any significant mileage.

When I first bought mine I was nipping to the shops in it...the start stop start journeys are a real killer to the mileage. Now the novelty has worn off a bit I walk to the shops and try not to use it for the short journeys.

I get just under 300 miles to a full tank which I think equates to abround 15 mpg. Having said that I rarely do long journeys and almost never get on the motorway with it. I think that's pretty good concidering the type of driving I do.

I have a small car to go to work and save the V8 for the nice days. And would not swap it for a diesel regardless of the "economy"...
