Hi all

This is the problems I'm having with my l405 4.4 sdv8 2014
After having the engine rebuilt in the uk
It's starts from cold no problem once the engine reaches running temperature
It's starts a metallic tick from the left side as you look at the car (dose not effect performance car has been drivern 500kms )
We are getting the same result with the auxiliary belt off also
I have been told it could be the chain tensioner and or sprockets
I would have the car looked at by the garage that rebuilt the engine ,but the car is in Spain at the moment
Anyone come across this problem before
Any info would be greatly appreciated
 
Honestly without hearing it, its nothing but guesswork... Timing chains tend to be noisy on cold start, hydraulic elements on camshaft followers tend to be noisy when the engine is hot. Timing chains rattle, camshaft followers or hydraulic elements cause ticks.

It look like I'm sending the car back to the uk at my cost

Engine rebuilt at what mileage? Sounds like these engines do not last long unless it was very high mileage.

Then engine was ticking from less than 500km
It's only just been rebuild less than 2 months ago but as the engine was getting shipped out of the uk I was told there would be no guarantee

Sorry, you misunderstood, why did it need a rebuild?
