Hi guys,

I'm new here, so apologies if I'm going over old ground.

I'm in the market to buy a Range Rover with LPG. Not sure to go for the 4.0 or the 4.6 because I've heard of some horror stories to do with engine problems with the 4.6 and LPG conversion.

But I could never find any definitive answer on whether that was the case.

Any advice on this and what to look out for in general when buying one?

Thanks everyone

Tris

Hi
i have the 4.0 version on an x-reg. LPG converted. its quite economical and runs well. costs about £32 to fill the tank and gives at leat 180 miles, which are mainly in town for me. i have driven up to leicester and back from heathrow on one tank an then another 20 miles before i ran out of gas. i was totally shocked. that was about 220 miles from one tank. it is now for sale by the way if any one is interested.

i have a 1996 4.6 hse on lpg, no problems at all, its sweet. 80 litre tank fills to 80% so i get 60 litres and the best i had was 180 miles driving accross north norfolk, thats £27, amazing!

It's in the spare tyre well and holds a max of 95 litres.

Not sure what it actually fills to yet though. I had it with a full tank of gas and half a tank of petrol !! Lol

You can only fill the LPG tanks to 80%, so a 95 litres tank will fill to 76 litres, filling with gas at say 45p that will mean a tank full is £34.20.

Petrol at 74p a litre, £34.20 will get you about 46 litres my Range Rover can drink that much in petrol in 3 days.
