Has anyone "Retro fitted " a third brake light? I have one on my car but it does not work for some reason. I dismantled the assembly for the light and the bulbs and connection seem fine. Is there a separate fuse for this light? What else can i try?
thanks in advance...

I fitted a led type third brake light on my classic. Due to the low voltage/wattage on led, I just tap it to the +ve side on one of the brake light (either left or right) and tap the -ve to one of the ground (cant really remember which ones, likely to be the ground wire from the towing electrics.

If you are fitting the bulb type third light, not sure if the extra wattage will foul the system, but you can try.

not 100% sure but it may need to go on test book or similar to tell the becm that it has one fitted .

The one on my car was factory fitted - the reason I ask is because I wanted to know if there was a fuse, and also to find out how the trace the wiring. Does anyone know if there are any access points to this wiring? I read somewhere that it could be accesed by the interior lights??? there must be a break or loose connection somewhere how do i locate it without taking the insides to pieces?
