air in fuel perforated pick up pipe possible - is it worse on low tank

Hi don't know if this is of any help, but I have the same problem with a 2003 Boxer van and been told by a Peugeot mechanic that it's the seals in the fuel pump, his remedy is a new pump

Return pipes from injectors are allowing air in, requiring fuel pump to have to bleed each time you start it maybe ?
