:confused:hi all, just trying to change the drive belt in my disco 2 and dont appear to have a 36mm spanner to remove the viscous cooling fan, my adjustable doesnt fit so was wondering if there is anyone in winchester that could lend me one for a few minutes. ive been to halfords, screw fix, tool box and home base but no such luck.

No good to you I know but I have one in Staffordshire, but the easiest and quickest way to loosen the nut is by using a long substantial screwdriver placed on the outer right hand side of the nut (left hand thread) and give it a good solid thump with a hammer. Works every time.

cheers for the replies, unfortunately got one now but the problem appears to be the air con pump squeling not the belt,

Cromwells do one for £6. I've got one and they're pretty good, thin enough and cranked. Way better then trying to force an ordinary spanner in.

Clicky

Just hope they've got a shop near you.

make sure your "squealing belt " is not in fact a leaking exhaust manifold gasket. Common TD5 problem.

as was suggested earlier in one of the posts it was infact a warped exhaust manifold that was squealing. a couple of snapped studs too but all sorted now by the awsome chaps at keith gott landrover
