Am looking to power up my CB from the fusebox area, whats the best place to take a +12v feed from without chopping into things and upsetting anything else? The wire is already run there so am looking to scotchlock into a feed nearby, is there a specific live there thats only on with the ignition, no point having a permanent live as if i'm using my CB im going to be in the car with the keys!

Ta muchly :D

You could always use the permanent live for the hazard lights.
Won't matter that its a permanent live as you switch the cb on/off using the volume switch on the rig.

Do ya own a MultiMeter?? If so ya could try probing the spare fuse holders in the fuse box. Until you find one that's switched live only.

Or Take a live feed direct from battery and feed thru a relay, which uses a switched live to activate it.

To be honest i'd prefer a switched live so when the keys out of the ignition everythings off....I dont own a multimeter and am crap with wiring- i'll do big stereo installs but not messing around with wiring looms, the thought of getting it wrong makes me shudder!

The only other way is to stick a cig lighter plug thing on it and plug it in to use it but I hate wires hanging around everywhere lol

Top of the dash, above the stereo....i've already run the wire down to fusebox, not wiring it into the back of the stereo as if it comes out it will never ever go back in again!

Well if you do decide to "scotchlock" it to the live for the hazard lights the permanent live wire is the thick purple 1 on the rear of the hazard switch.

Fag lighter feed?? or any of the dash switches. or the heater controls.

just take it from the back of the radio..... that way when you turn the ignition off, the CB will switch off.

Yes there is....It's a wonder someone hasn't mentioned the horn circuit :( obviously all non disco owner replies.

Don't bodge with electrical wiring take your new 'fused' feed from the dedicated ignition live terminal on the fuse board.

I already told him to take a switched live feed from the fuse box. Didn't ya read the whole fooking thread first??

I used the redundant airbag terminal on the fusebox. As mine has no airbag there are a couple of spare terminals, all switced through the ignition, going spare and fused.

Does anyone know 1) at what rating this connection is fused at and b) what the other spade connection immediately below it for?
I want to piggy back an additional fuse box on if for centre controller usb & cigarette lighter plus dash cam and satnav.....and want to know if I'll need a relay in there or not.
