Kinda interested to get one so spare alt is already mounted rather than swapping if it goes down on a long trip.. That the idea because I see no huge gain from running two?

True split charge for one, high output total for cheap readily available alternators instead of high cost specialist alternators etc etc
 
thanks for letting me know, Ive had a fair few carrier f ups lately and Im getting kinda paranoid
