Have you taken the egr valve off, as that could be stuck. Guessing you have
Sounds like it's not getting enough air. Airflow and pressure are different things really.
Air filter, clogged intercooler, collapsing / internally delaminating air hoses, poorly plumbed snorkel etc.
Any play / roughness in the turbo bearings? Damage to the turbo vanes?
Yes there is definatly play in the turbo bearings, I noticed this when I first bought it and did the manifold gasket, no end float but quite a bit of play in the bearings that was over 5 years ago and with 17,000 less miles on it, I thought because it was boosting ok then no need to bother, am I wrong with this thought ?
Thanks barney
Just a thought try removing the fan if yours is still on and see what happens could be the fan has a barrier between the rad and engine or fan and engine i have my fan off as I find at high speeds the fan restrict's it
My fan is still on, never thought about the fan, viscous coupling still works ok though, I might give it a try but don,t want to run with it off all the time as I do a lot of ticking over over farm and barely moving over farm fields,
Thanks again
