This is doing my head in now, when cold runs like a good un, pulls like a train and you can hear the turbo whistle, when it reaches temperature runs like crap, loss of power and no turbo boost, but you can hear the turbo spinning, just has no boost, after a while of driving power may come back and turbo whistles like it should, but soon goes again when you lift off and go to accelerate again

so far I've........
Cleaned sedimentor.
flushed fuel through
New fuel filter
Changed pipes from injector to injector as were split and looked dodgy
Had all pipes off and checked for damage, no visible damage
Was just about to do EGR blanking, turns out its already been done at the inlet pipe, so ruled EGR valve out as a problem

Next step is to check lift pump, how do I check if its working properly and delivering enough fuel?
And what else should I be checking?

First diesel ive every had so im at a bit of a loss, im usually a V8 man

I would just change the lift pump, Very cheap and easy. My Disco just cut out on the way to work , changed the lift pump and that was that.

Is there diesel in your fuel filter ?

yes mate fuel filter is full, im at a real loss with it now, intercooler pipe and turbo pipes are expanding when revved, no black smoke or any smoke coming out the exhaust

unless of course the lift pumps weak and cant deliver enough fuel when under load, then when on tickover it can

Hi
I had a bit of time to do some serious Googling about your issue.

Rough running after warm up seems to be an issue that can affect all diesel makes at some time!
After wading through a lot of dross, the threads that had a conclusion all ended up replacing or repairing the injector pump.

One chap in the States spent over $4k on fault finding before he fixed his motor.

There doesn't seem to be a consensus as to why problems would only show up when the engine is warm but changing the injector pump seemed to be the cure.

I'm sure I saw a fault finding guide in a manual for an older LR diesel, if I can find it again ill post a link.

At least with a Tdi you wont have to worry about MAF,MAP,AAP CPS etc!

Ps try giving Diesel Bob a call, he just did my TD5 injectors for a good price and was very helpful with phone advice as well.
