If you found a Stanley knife lying around would you cut your wrists?
why o why do you not like this idea its what i had lying around and fancyd an experiment cos i dont have the money to work on the comp safari car so its somthing to do in my free time and i cant just sit about otherwise i get bored i got the engine in the car on a hoist today next to work out mounts

If it is your thing to fiddle then carry on. But fitting an inferior power plant into a P38 is not my idea of fun.
 
Is that fitted in to a p38, would love to know how its done.

And retaining all the other systems in working order so would i.

i looked at doing the 3.0 but it sems to be alot of electricks and i am already using one of them engines in another projrct so didnt have one lying around

Steve said it’s fairly involved but more than doable. Have been tempted for mine although he said it would probably eventually eat 5th gear in the box due to the torque.

There is no 5th gear in the auto box.
 
so managed to get the engine mounts in place had the left and right mounts and they works as they should im going to have to modify the sump and put a lift on it so i dont kill the engine but a lift was the plan anyway

I know you have lots of problems but a word of advice. ALWAYS remove the negative battery cable first. NEVER the positive one. Doing what you are doing taking the battery out is best, but certainly don't have the negative still connected.

With you on the battery @wammers I get my 12 volt test light out between positive and body saying see that little light had it been a spanner its flash bang loads of sparks !

It's just standard practice to remove the negative lead first. Never the positive. You always remove the negative lead first, then the positive when disconnecting a battery. Re-connection is positive first then the negative. Just as when charging, you NEVER connect or disconnect the charger to the battery with the charger switched on. Connect battery then switch on charger. Switch charger off then disconnect. I have seen the Hydrogen gas explode when people have done this. Better safe than sorry.
 
so managed to have a bit of a mess about added a 3 inch lift wish some standard height springs also started messing about with some radiators and intercoolers had a transit intercooler and with the ends having a slight modifacation also this was a friends pre modify radiator that he wasnt going to use so got that in the stared to mess with the wiring more to do tommorow

Thought you would have at least put the bonnet into service position makes life a lot easier.
