Well thought I would get on with the final bit of mechanical work on the disco.
So it was off with the old suspension, bitpart shocks with yellow heavy duty springs and they were in some state.

So ordered up some terra firma shocks with a +2" medium springs

Also at the same time I did the brakes all round.
All 4 callipers were goosed with failed seals and rusted pistons.

New seals and pistons fitted then painted up.

Anyway it's starting to get there. Hoping to have it ready for the end of January if I am lucky.

Very small update.
Managed to get a hour or so in the garage tonight. First of managed to bleed the brakes, so far no leeks from any of my new lines or callipers so that's a bonus.

I also managed to bond down the boot floor and seam sealed ready for the next stage.

Hope to get some more time on it tomorrow.

Yet another small update fir those that are interested.
Managed a few hours over the weekend in the garage to get the final top coat on to the inside of the disco,
I used u-pol raptor it's a heavy dutie rubberised spray for lining vans and truck beds and thought it would work well in the disco. It means I can just hose out any mud and crap and not worrie about it rusting from the inside out.

Also when it's sprayed it has a cool texture lol

Then decided it was rebuild time so on went all the door seals, passenger drivers side door(pain in the ass on my own) rear bumper and passenger seat.

Before I put the drivers seat in for the final time I thought I would clean off the rott on the base, now looks like I have more welding to do, that or find a new one lol .

That's it for just now, will try and do more work tonight. :)

Up date time.

Right things have been slow over the last few weeks but it is coming together.
Started off fixing the rotten seat base. Cut out all the rust and welded in some nice fresh metal, once that was done it was the normal two-three coats of por-15.

Forgot to take a close up pic of the finished job once painted  anyway once the paint was dry I mounted them back in the disco, fitted the now clean carpet. I have also started to get the rest of the interior in to it as well.

Disappointed I have missed this one so far!

Anyway hello Neil and thanks for saving it! :)

Lol no need to get all disappointed I am not doing a build to anywhere near your standard. Lol

Then again I do have some cash burning a hole in my pocket for some new wheels, diff and steering guards and off corse the much needed loads of extra lights :D but that will need to wait till it's been through its mot and back on the road.

Well not a lot has went on with the disco for a week or so due to other commitments :(

Anyway small update with out pics I am afraid. I have now managed to under seal the complete underside of the car including inner wings and also injected in to the bottom of the A,B and C posts.
Also full interior is complete apart from roof liner. Left out to find water leeks and have onw sorted all of them so should have a water tight disco.

Now just need to sort a few small electrical faults and it should be good to go :)

Up date time for anyone that's interested in this slow but getting closer to being finished project.

I have now completed the head lining, removed all the old fabric and glue. Then glued down some new fabric, cut to aprox shape and size the glued and trimmed the edges, sunroof and switch holes.

Any way here's the pics

Nice one dude

I keep looking at the luxury drapes in our 300 thinking I should rectify it

Always dark head liner for me, good choice

Yeah the darker material looks so much better and now that it's done it's one more bit to tick off the completed list. :)

On to the next part of that list :lalala:

Well the latest up date is my disco past it's mot with no advisories, so it back on the road with one or two little issues, first the gear or transfer box is sounding in a bad way plus the transfer box is leaking oil.

So I have a spare transfer box to put in then will start a rebuild of my own one.

Second I need to get the tracking sorted but the mot stations wheel alinement gear would not fit over the wheels lol
Will up date further once I have changed the box round and got everything else sorted.
