box, drive plate, ring gear, torque convertor

got all the bits for an auto if the V8 is the same as the 300 ring apart from the inch thick drive plate, they're about £25

Need at add a plate to the injector pump, remove the clutch and fit the auto brake, apart from that not much more comedy to mind, James Martin will come along soon and clear things up ;)

seems like youve done a few ,no need for me to write anything if you have all the answers ;)

Isn't the chassis cross member and gear box mountings different? And although not essential to the change, the auto 300tdi engines mostly had edc to make up for the extra effort needed to drive the torque converter.

just decided that changing to auto would be the most stupid thing in the world as the list is ................................. that long

I bet it's not that long if you do a custom auto conversion.

Ie, change the transmission parts which are **** easy on an old land rover, basically crank back, and leave the rest. Can even use existing manual pedal box I would have thought.

I'd have thought pedal box can stay it has a brake and accelerator which is what you need………

Don't need EDC, just tweak pump if you need more power………theres like 10hp difference between a standard and an EDC auto if that

gearbox mounts may need changing, not sure about them
