Last time i checked engine has to come out to change the clutch this way because of the shaft and area of the box hitting the bulkhead..

Anyone remember doing this ?
 
You could take the box out to do the clutch ,you will get different opinions on which option is easiest

That’s the issue with the bell housing hitting the bulkhead in this case with the short version it seems not possible. It’s been on the ramp
 
I Jack the engine up at the front & pull the box out, I used a crane through the passenger door with the tunnel removed.
The last one was really tight so I pulled the engine mounts off & lowered the engine, that gave me enough clearance
to drop the box out. If you have the tools & know what your doing you can have a 300tdi engine out in a hour.
Sometimes quicker as prop bolts can be a right pita as are the downpipe bolts. Heat may be required.

Yeah exactly what i'm thinking of doing.. straight out with the engine.. are you taking the radiator out at this point?
