Hi recency purched a 300tdi defender

It seams to have no power with black some when reved
Also expands bottom hose from turbo but sucks in top hose
Engine starts and sound ok

Iv had all turbo hoses of and seams ok and have presure out of top of intercooler hose when reved

Have any body got any idears

Is the intake hose delaminating inside? They can look ok but actually be guffed

replace that top hose they are not supposed to suck in on itself

Top hose is fubar.

Also check air filter isn't clogged

Im guessing the top hose should expand iv tried a different top hose and dus the same.

No unless the turbo is not producing enuff pressure for the amount the engine is sucking

Put a pressure gauge on the turbo wastegate pipe, small black hose on the turbo, T peice join to a gauge and see what it's doing.. Should be about 1.1 bar on full boost. If that's fine, check from the air intake all the way to to the engine manifold intake. As it's black smoking but no power suggests lack of air

Cheers guy found the problem had a partially blocked inter cooler goes like a rocket now thanks for the replays though
