Hi my intercooler is in the sink at the moment, but around the bottom on the fins is a lot of crud. Anyone know the best thing to get this off with without damaging the face of the intercooler ??

I used white spirit .. find a container large enough to put enough white spirit in to cover all the gungy bits, shake it, agitate it, brush the crap etc etc then leave overnight. Empty out next day after agitating again, the refill with clean white spirit and do the same .... took me something like four or five bottles of spirit but it's well worth it.

Make sure it's completely dry before refitting and restarting. ;)

soak it in hot water with washing up liquid and leave it for a few hours, dont use bleach or caustic soda if its oily **** ect spray it with wd 40 first or mild solution of degreaser

Cheers I will spray it with some WD. I was surprised how gunky it was. And it was a bitch to take out!
