Driving around a round about earlier my disco ( mreg 300tdi es) wouldnt go into second gear and hasnt since, so draint gearbox fluid, plug had few metal fragments but nothing major been told thats normal, but oil seemed ok, any suggestions much appreciated thanks

Is it going into where 2nd gear should be but no gear or won't go into where it should be going, if you know what I mean! Harry!

Just wont go, like something is stopping it, but no problems before or with any other gears drained oil and seems fine, confused lol cheers

it could be the selector spring (think thats what it's called) at the top of the gear box, under the cover of the centre consol, the springs can break or become weak and it stops the gear from being selected,
i may be wrong so wait for a few more replies

will it go in gear with the engine switched off?

Not selector spring or bias plate , need a garage i think
