hi my disco is throwing a lot of black smoke out the pearson who had it before me had a bigger intercooler on and had turned fuel pumb up. he put normal intercooler back on but left fuel pump could this be why

yes black smoke is fuel burned with not enough air

do check your injectors too easy to check and mine were buggered

when you say check injectors what am i checking ??

spray pattern no drips or squirts,can be done with injector piped up but out of head ,tdi would require spare pipe to bend suitably,

dont whatever you do get any part of your body near spray pattern ,is injected at 280 bar

and the spray itself isn't so good for your lungs, it's not only a smell of fuel but very thin aerosol droplets (when testing the injectors with a test pump we use a special neutral liquid with characteristics similar to regular fuel)
