Thing is that if you go for too big a turbo you end up with lag hence the hybrids/mods. How is the t3 modded? The general rule is more power = more lag so you need to increase the power then reduce the lag to be the same or better using other methods. For the best performance you need to combine several mods such as turbo/fueling/intercooler/filter/fuel pump/head etc

Will be interesting to see your manifold/mods.

Out of curio what was the max egt at them boost pressure with the tweaked pump?

No idea we never used to use them in the old days and an experienced old school tuner will know as I do myself if an engine is running too higher egt.

Dont believe the horror stories regarding egt its false to assume a reading on a gauge registering a heat pulse in the exhaust could possibly give anyone an accurate reading.

If you are after real power from a landrover you have no choice but to run a higher than standard egt ,However if the whole engine running system ie fuel rates, fuel timing, injectors and so on are tuned the engine will run efficiently as well as produce masses of torque.

Mine runs well cool but its taken alot of time and research to produce a system that gives huge power gains with reliability and Ive proven its possible. :D

Quite true mate but unless you know from experience as I do and not just a guess like most people are making after they have used a load of old pipe of another landy a second hand air filter and a ten mm spanner to boost a kinder egg sized turbo you will achieve nothing certainly not reliably.

Who for a start can tell you what a safe egt is and based on what...........people are quick to dis believe but they have no facts and no proof of what they have reliable done I have I have been tuning heavily modded engines for years with great success and am trying to help people not fill there heads full of crap info that wastes their time and creates black smoke as I said before over 3000 miles @ over 200bhp not a drop of oil ,water or a single misfire period.:)

You must think that we are all total thickoes, as you apparently know more about engines than everyone on here does!

For example, what diffs and half shafts are you using?

Have you uprated the prop shafts?

Please don't insult us by trying to imply that you are the only person in the world who knows our engines and their capabilities! If you are, then you would be working on the design team at TATA.

BTW, my son currently holds a record for the most power out of a 1500cc, and is currently working on smashing that with his new designs.

If you want to know about real power development, why not contact Williams Racing and Allan might talk to you!
 
It does actually look like a universal fit intercooler from ching chong with some generic silicon pipework I am afraid

The kits are roughly £110 for that size intercooler with all the pipework.

Thing is mate theres lots of very very clever people on here, and what someone doesnt know someone else will gladly share.
With land rovers almost anything you can think of has been done some time in the past.
Ps 3k aint exactly much to boast about.

#1 The standard VE pump was hopeless. Land Rover VE has a non linear output, juce up the pump, max power increases but bottom end collapses, no good for off-roading.

#2 Turbomachinery did not cut it.

I found VE used on 4 liter off 71/2 tonne truck motor with a linear output, using fuel pin from MAN truck and also well known that TD5 Garrett is great widget with correct manifold.

End result was solid 200 hp at the top with no compromise bottom end, rocket ship motor, did 3 for French race team.

Use your eyes mate and look further and apart from the intercooler can you tell me where to get the other so called universal bits from to mount a t3 hybrid to a landy manifold + external gate mount..........No thought not as there not available which is why most setups people try are welded up scrap bits and old tired blowers and weak internal gates that would hold themselves up.

Look closer at the pics.

Hi I am sure there are some clever people on here Im just telling you what I have achieved reliably, believe what you want the facts are the facts I dont need to supply a dnyo read out its not a competition.If you want to fiddle with your diesel pump and tune your engine based on no facts be my guest I have people queing up to buy my kits it makes no difference to me if people get a bee in their bonnet because they have not got the results they want.

This gets funnier all the time..I run a completely standard 300tdi setup EVERYTHING no damage no clutch slipping no busted diffs or transmisions. I cant see why you feel the need to change them unless you need different gearing.I insult nobody I simply stated the facts If you dont believe them its up to you it makes no odds to me personally and I certainly dont need any help from another tuner I went to one to have the pump turned up initially when I knew little about them and he made as much difference to the car as attatching an elastic band and he races them.
Also its not under development it is done just needs setting up and the stage 1 kits I have sold have been proven and this is a stage 2 kit which the manifold and conversion block takes almost any blower you want to choose.
 
A few bits of coloured and poorly crimped jointed pipes don't really impress me at all!

Open your eyes mate can you not see whats bolted to the engine......got any pics of your engine bay and your turbo conversion including external gate....I would love to see it if you have anything to show instead of slating what I have achieved.:rolleyes:
 
Mines nice at 90 and just getting proper on boost loads left ......on poly bushes and 2 inch lift it rides solid would recomend poly bushing everytime it was bushed before I got it and its well worth having.:D

90?! As in MPH? From a standard 300tdi with a standard gearbox?

C'mon! Who do you think you're kidding? :pound:
